To look, see and interpret: an introduction to the processes of interpretation in comtemporary art
Guided tour for organised groups
Tuesdays to Fridays - 10:00 to 18:00
(*) Reservation required.
When observing a painting, sculpture or installation, what do we really see? Are there glances that do not involve thought? What about thoughts that do not involve images? Are we able to dissociate our reading processes from the universes and contexts in which we are immersed? What does “interpreting an work of art” mean? How does contemporary art challenge interpretation? From a selection of the Modern Art Centre's Collection, a dialogue in the form of a tour emerges to explore interpretation and the idea of multiple readings, present in art and contemporary visual culture.
